![]() Who am I? I'm an itinerant engineer and software developer, originally from New Zealand. Right now I live in California, prior to that I lived in New Hampshire (USA) - before that, I lived in Montréal, Canada. What do I do? In California I work for Google on various interesting things related to StreetView. Before that I worked for a small embedded networking company. In my spare time I work on ODE. In Montréal I was involved in research and development of core simulation technology and simulators for MathEngine, another small software company. MathEngine used to make physical system simulation software for the game industry, vehicle simulators, and virtual prototyping. In the past I have been involved in research into biologically based intelligent control, simulation of virtual characters for movie production, development of various client/server and database systems, and development of educational software. What are my technical interests? Simulation of physical systems, especially for virtual environments. Neuro-control, and the biological basis of perception, movement and cognition. Mind design methodology. Software development methodology. Computer graphics at all levels. Various theoretical and practical aspects of physics, mathematics, and engineering. Technical education and technical writing.
